[edit] Guy Fawkes?

I was under the impression that Guido Fawkes was British, despite having a Dutch name. He was a Yorkshireman, who fought as a sapper with the Spanish army.

You are quite right, of course. Good catch. I've changed it. qp10qp 14:46, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Structure

Ok, I read your whole article, and I think that it would bring more clarity if it was done parliament by parliament, and you could discuss the main issues of each (Finance, Union, Religion, Privileges etc.) therein.

1st parliament would be the longest, but in this strucutr you would be able to include much as yet undiscussed material. Prerogatives, and the judge Fleming statement (which was to do with parliament), Impositions, and the whle range of privelege arguments. This would have helped me in my A-Levels, so I would say that it's useful and worthwile.

You are entirely right. This article, which hasn't existed very long, is not so much a full treatment as a heap of stray material shoved in a pile to await further attention. It is largely material removed from the James I of England article when that got too large. It's on my list of things to do, and I would also like to do an article on the Scottish parliaments under James, a neglected topic. Even so, I think this article could still be helpful to an A Level student because there are some good quotes to be found in it (especially in the notes) and it is sourced to some of the best historians. Would you consider having a go at improving the article yourself, after you've finished your A Levels? qp10qp 14:55, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
