[edit] Notoriety of taking the page of this name?

I would like to ask if there has been discussion as to why this person takes the James_Hughes article?

There seem to be both many well known James Hughes' as well as a failure to be that notable. For example, Michel Jordan gets the article about him as his name because that name normally eludes to just him, however John Hughes gets john_Hughes_%28writer%29 because the name John Hughes does not automatically make most people think of that particular man. In the same way I think it would be good to have a page more like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Hughes for the name James Hughes to give the other well known and notable J Hughes' a chance of a page.

Especially considering his notoriety is based mainly on his mention in other wiki articles or his own projects. Any one else care to lend their two cents? --Curuxz 12:24, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

As you can see from the list of links in the section above, James Hughes (bioethicist) is in fact notable. However, I agree with you that we should create a James Hughes disambiguation page. Are you up to it? --Loremaster 14:49, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
I don't think I am currently able to since (technically) I have a conflict of interest, being someone with the same name :), but its nice that in theory there is support for the idea of disambiguation. Actually, sources for biograhical information on James Hughes are independent articles while sources for his projects and organizations are the websites of these projects and organizations as evidence of their existence. --Loremaster (talk) 16:13, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
Ah thanks for clearing that up. Out of interest Loremaster would you be good enough to explain your interest in this subject matter. My interest in James Hughes comes from my interest in all subject matters directly and indirectly related to transhumanism. Since Hughes is probably the leading transhumanist advocate, it was only a question of time before I became interested in expanding articles directly and indirectly related to him. However, I don't know James Hughes personally but I have interacted online with people who do know him on a professional basis. --Loremaster (talk) 19:42, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
