Talk:James H. "Jim" Brown
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hello, Wikipedia citizens. I just finished reading this biography of Jim Brown, and I must say, it reads as if Brown himself wrote it. It universally praises him (often without references, i.e. "he is an undisputed expert" on Louisiana history... based on what?), while dodging any discussion of his perjury conviction or his prior acquittal on fraud and witness tampering charges.
For example, we know EXACTLY how much All State reduced insurance rates in Louisiana after one of Brown's initiatives (causation? correlation? Who knows; the article implies the rate drop was Brown's doing), but we don't know what charges he was convicted of or what the nature of his crime was. I'm not saying that Brown is guilty, innocent, or somewhere in between... I'm saying that this article reads like a campaign hand out. Does anyone else agree with this criticism? Perhaps I'm off base to complain, but I don't want to research any possible rewrites unless I know that there is some consensus that the current article is flawed.
That's all; have a good day.
