Jamiat Ahle Hadith

The Jamiat Ahle Hadith (JA) (Assembly of followers the way of the prophet) is a religio-political party in Pakistan. It is part of the Islamic fundamentalist Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal, that won at the last legislative elections, 20 October 2002 with 11.3 percent of the popular vote. Of the 272 seats in the legislature, the party has 53 elected members serving.
It follows the Wahhabi-like school of Ahle Hadith, which is an extension of the Sunni school of thought. The party is currently led by Professor Sajid Mir.[1]
