Dr. James Walsh is a British Liberal Democrat politician and G.P. active in the Littlehampton and Rustington area of West Sussex, United Kingdom. Formerly a Royal Navy Medical Officer 1968-1973. Remained in Royal Naval Reserve to 1993, finally as Surgeon Captain and Director Medical Reserves 1990-3; Reserve Decoration and bar.
Dr. Walsh has been a Town and Arun district councillor since 1976 and a W. Sussex county councillor since 1985 and Mayor of Littlehampton 1989/90 and 2007-. Chairman of Arun District Council 2003-4.Chairman W Sussex Social Services 2003-7; Member Sussex Police Authority 1989-2005 & Chairman 1995-7; Littlehampton Harbour Commissioner 1990-date & Chairman 2001-2005; Chairman West Sussex Local Medical Committee 2002-4; Chairman Littlehampton School Governors 1985-99 Full Member EU Committee of the Regions for SE England 1998-2002; Founder Chairman EU Airport Regions Conference 1995-7, & Vice-President Arc Manche 1995-7
