James Valentine (Australian musician)

As a musician, James Valentine has worked with Australian artists such as Kate Ceberano and Joe Camelleri. In 1984 he joined Models and played with them until they broke up in 1988. Since then James has been a music and television journalist and radio presenter. He achieved fame as host of the Afternoon Show on ABC TV in the late 1980s, proving that you can split a banana into three pieces with a pinky finger. He did a stint as a presenter with ABC Local radio 666 in Canberra and nowadays presents an afternoon show on radio ABC 702 in Sydney. A number of humorous sketches which James Valentine has presented on air are on the ABC's Humour Australia website.

Valentine is also the author of a successful series of books for teenage boys, beginning with JumpMan.

Valentine is currently a judge (since 2006) for the Australian TV reality series It Takes Two, in which paired professional singers and celebrities competed against each other.
