James Johnston(born 1950, New York City) is an American artist.
He studied architecture at the University of Virginia and graphic design at the School of Visual Arts. His career as a professional artist spans more than 25 years and includes many media: ceramics, wood and metal sculpture, product design and painting. Since moving to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico in 1997, he has worked full-time as a printmaker. Since 2005 he has lived and worked in Mexico City. His work has been seen in such publications as W, Vogue and The New York Times, and has been exhibited throughout the United States, as well as in Europe, Japan and Mexico.
