James Michael Munro

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

James Michael Munro (born June 17, 1961) is a convicted murderer.

James was born to Anna Marie Massow in Furth Byron, Germany. In 1963 he was then adopted by Americans Evon Charron and Leigh Munro of Michigan.

Munro was convicted as an accomplice to serial killer William Bonin, who was also known as the "California Freeway Killer" or just the "Freeway Killer". Their crimes took place in southern California in the late 1970s to the very early 1980s.

Munro is believed to have aided Bonin in the murders of Dennis Franklin Fox on November 30, 1979, and Steven Wells about half a year later on June 6, 1980.

Munro maintains to this day that he was an unwilling accomplice to Bonin, saying that he had been threatened with death if he didn't help Bonin kill or if he ever turned him in to authorities.

Munro is currently serving out his sentence at the Mule Creek State Prison in Ione, California.
