James Hayes (politician)

Jim Hayes represents the 148th District in the New York State Assembly, which comprises towns within both Erie County, New York and Niagara County, New York.
Elected in 1998, he is the current Ranking Minority Member of the New York Assembly's Ways & Means Committee.
Previous to his election, from 1995-1998, he served as the first director of development for Catholic Charities of Bufalo. Prior to that he served as director of alumni relations and as an admissions counselor to Canisius College, where he had attained a B.A. in Political Science in 1986.
