Please note that the flick page says "All Rights Reserved". I asked Mr. Perchick to release it under a CC license, which he agreed to do.

Hi goatee,

I came across your images of Jeremy Clarkson (http://www.flickr.com/photos/goatee/161551695/), James May (http://www.flickr.com/photos/goatee/161551458/) and Richard Hammond (http://www.flickr.com/photos/goatee/161551696/) and thought that they were great images.

I am a contributer at Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org), a user edited, free, web-based encyclopedia. Wikipedia currently has no images for its articles on Clarkson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeremy_Clarkson) and May (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_May)</a> because we require images to be licensed under a "free license" (creative commons, gfdl, public domain, etc).

I was hoping that you would consider releasing all three of your images of the Top Gear crew under a Creative Commons (http://creativecommons.org/) license. If you choose to, Wikipedia only accepts cc-by and cc-by-sa licenses. Under either of these licenses, you of course will maintain full credit as the photographer.

Thank you for your consideration,

Jeff

Hi Jeff, does wikipedia not accept images released under a by-nc-sa license?

Cheers

Hi Ed,

Wikipedia doesn't accept non-commercial or no-derivative images, so that would be a no. If you have any other questions, feel free to drop me a message.

Ok, then I guess I would be ok releasing them under a sa license. Can I leave them on flickr as showing all rights reserved, but then sending you the images, so you can upload them onto the wikipedia site?

PS2pcGAMER said:

Wow, thank you.

I see no problem with leaving them as all rights reserved on flickr, but I am not a copyright expert by any means. I asked someone else previously to release the rights under by-sa, who did, and I believe they left it as "all rights reserved" on flickr.

I'd be happy to upload them to Wikipedia for you. I can either pull the images from flickr or you can e-mail them to me at ps2_pc_gamer@yahoo.com, whatever you think is best.

Sorry to ask so many questions, but I wanted to double check since apparently revision 3.0 of the license is now out. Is by-sa 2.0 ok?

Thanks again.

Jeff

Hi, by-sa 2 is fine. Feel free to take them from flickr. For the credit, please use the name Ed Perchick and link to blog.remez.com.

Thanks
