Jake Hooker (born Jerry Mamberg, May 3, 1953, Haifa, Israel). His family moved to the United States and he was brought up in New York City, eventually moving to London, England in his adult life.
[edit] Career
Hooker was a founding band member of the 1970s group The Arrows . The pop group had several hit singles produced by Mickie Most and a weekly TV series on the Granada ITV network, The Arrows Show.
The highlight of his musical career was co-writing the song "I Love Rock 'N Roll" with fellow bandmate, singer Alan Merrill of The Arrows. The song is an accepted international rock classic. The song was also an international hit for Joan Jett and pop megastar Britney Spears.
[edit] Current
He retired as a musician in 1978 when The Arrows disbanded, after marrying actress/singer Lorna Luft (the daughter of legendary actress/singer Judy Garland) on Valentine's Day 1977, and becoming her manager. They had two children, son Jesse (b. April 1984) and daughter Vanessa (b. September 1990), and were divorced in 1993. [1]
