JadranSport

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

JadranSport was a non profit news organization that covered football news from the Balkans. It was launched in 2004 and went offline in fall 2007. It was the only English language site that covered football news and events from former Yugoslavia countries Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia.[citation needed]

It covered national teams as well as footballers playing professionally in leagues around the world. One of the stated goals of the organization was to inform football fans and journalists around the globe with professionally researched, critical and balanced news coverage.

[edit] Social project

JadranSport's content, structure and aim was to be a social project as much as a sports one, in order to improve the relations between Balkan countries that were torn due to wars during the 1990's. The site had a multi-national outlook and believed that inter-cultural communication and ethnic reconciliation throughout all aspects of society (including sports) should be a future goal for Balkan countries.[1]
