[edit] Ole Miss-LSU Game

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Ole Miss-LSU Game, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. —C.Fred (talk) 19:56, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

I made this comment at Talk:Ole Miss-LSU Game. I'm duplicating it here since talk pages without articles are prone to be deleted:

First, I do not support the speedy deletion of the prior version of [Ole Miss-LSU Game] as nonsense. Was it flawed? Yes. (POV, no reliable sources, etc.) Was it patent nonsense? No.
That said, develop the article first in userspace and then move it over once it's in good shape. Then there's no issues with an incomplete article being confused for a flawed one.
Finally, I'm not saying that Ole Miss fans don't care about the game. I'm questioning whether it is sufficiently notable to have its own article. I'm pretty sure NC State–East Carolina doesn't, and that's a football rivalry with some history. In the case of the List of NCAA college football rivalry games, I question its inclusion because it is neither a named rivalry nor has a trophy (compare against the Egg Bowl). —C.Fred (talk) 17:14, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
