- All I did was move the page to a title without quotes (using quotes puts it in main article space, rather than userspace), and then deleted the redirect. I've fixed the reference above. NawlinWiki (talk) 00:27, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Peek-a-boo
At times I like to check up on the Editors I know. PS- If you feel offended in anyway, by my butting in? I apologies. GoodDay (talk) 23:13, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
Cool. GoodDay (talk) 23:25, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Peek-a-boo II
Thanks Jack. GoodDay (talk) 22:48, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks to Wikipedia? I can no longer enjoy a book (I'm always looking for mistakes). But overall, it's a cool creation by Jimbo. GoodDay (talk) 15:14, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Fully agree with you, Great Britain and Northern Ireland is an anachronistic term. I use UK, but there again I was brought up (mixed Welsh working class and Irish Republican family) to call NI the Six Counties and went on a lot of the civil rights marches in my teens ..... --Snowded (talk) 01:45, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

G'day, Jack. I also think Salmond is doing a very fine job but he does speak about an association of the independent states of the British Isles and its expressed in the SNP manifesto. Now Wikipeire has his views but not all Irish people do, but if the response he got here [1] at the ROI talk is anything to go by then he doesn't have a lot of support. I used the term DGAF first so no offence taken at all. Cheers, --Bill Reid | Talk 09:22, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Re: Luck
Thanks! It's certainly a biggie tonight! I really wanted tickets (City of Manchester Stadium is only down the road really), but alas, fate conspired against me!... the league's hard to follow down in here in Angleland, but thankfully the UEFA cup final is kind of unmissable. Finally folk round here will understand what a real team's about, including my beloved family! --Jza84 | Talk 11:06, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
- The tents they put on down are are amazing! I know when fans come to the city they're normally blown away by the city centre. The preparations were on the regional news last night and I was really jealous! I haven't seen the city that excited under the sun since.... grrrrrrrrrr. --Jza84 | Talk 11:22, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Re:Diffferences
If you follow the conversation you'll see that Sarah doesn't hold that differences between Scotland, England, etc, to be important, everyone not in the Republic of Ireland is British or Anglo-American or some other abstract category she has taken a fancy to. She probably hasn't really thought about it if I were to guess, and has a distinct Irish perspective (it's pretty much only the Irish that use the term British for English when every other country in the world tends to have a preference for "England"). Indeed, being pro-Scottish is not anti-Englishness, and no reasonable person would think that. Can you enable your email btw? Thanks. Deacon of Pndapetzim (Talk) 15:37, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
- G'day Jack. Regarding your input at Sarah777's page you mentioned a tv debate between Salmond and Alexander as leaders of their parties at the 2007 election. You'll recall that Jack McConnell was the leader at that election and who resigned immediately after it. The debate was a tripartite one that included Nicol Stephen and I really don't remember the Scottish papers being anti-Salmond after it. Rgds, Bill Reid | Talk 16:27, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

- I think on the whole, the press and media in general have given the SNP a fair wind (so far) and have even praised some of its policies. Salmond is a canny operator and knows that good policies and delivery of them will gain browny points with the press and public alike. He's in it for the long haul and gaining a chunk of support from the media isn't going to happen over night but steady and good government is the way he sees for his party to gain the support he needs. It has to be said though that the SNP defence policy worries me not a little and that should they gain independence for Scotland, a lot of people are going to be unemployed. Anyway enough said about politics, not one of my favourite subjects. Rgds, Bill Reid | Talk 17:40, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] My talk page
I fixed my talk page, it wasn't your fault, I mucked something up! I took the liberty of readding your post and am here to reply = ). I am living in Germany at the moment but my nationality is British (meaning Scottish and Sassenach!)...Regards, --Cameron (T|C) 13:31, 20 May 2008 (UTC) By Scottish top, I assume you mean football T-shirt?--Cameron (T|C) 15:03, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] first labour government
Hi there
no big deal! On reading the article, it appeared that this was quite a minor point when what all has been missed out is considered! If you think otherwise, so be it!
Cheers

[edit] No suprise
I have been enjoying watching the admins handle his frantic defence - and I agreed to one of his compromises! To think we spent all that time with two sock puppets --Snowded (talk) 15:44, 23 May 2008 (UTC).
- Oh no! Apparently, Wikipiere has been caught with his socks down. I feel so betrayed. GoodDay (talk) 18:35, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Typical. you know what i mean!!
Typical somone scottish would delete that article, and by the way, your not the only ones who want idependence!

Yep, I sure did get it. It's not the first time for me, probably won't be the last. Emotions are certainly running high, at that article. GoodDay (talk) 15:05, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- Matt is gradually learning, that I'm mostly apolitical & that my major concern is Article stability. Think of it; a republican frequenting monarchy articles? I can't even figure myself out. GoodDay (talk) 15:16, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
I have been following the discussion between you & Matt (at Matt's page). I'm quite disappointed in Matt's uncivil suggestion to you. GoodDay (talk) 22:51, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

- Hi Jack Forbes. In answer to your question, I'm sure that the political aspect is one reason - but it's only one of several I've heard and several that come through in the references I've read. One other common explanation I've heard for objection is simply that it's a misnomer. In that view Ireland isn't "British". If the UK still included all of Ireland that objection would still be valid. Wotapalaver (talk) 12:57, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] To whomever it may concern
I have finished with wikipedia due to bullying tactics and accusations of pro-nationalist POV. In short I got sick and tired of one particular editor! Do as you wish with my user and talk page, I won't be needing it anymore. Jack forbes (talk) 12:15, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
- Jack, if you're reading this, I'd urge you to reconsider. Matt Lewis has been totally out of order and has been blocked accordingly. His behaviour is far from typical of the Wikipedia community, I'm only sorry that the other admins you contacted didn't act sooner. It may be true that his reaction was provoked, but that's no excuse. Waggers (talk) 12:27, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
- Jack reconsider. Matt looses it from time to time and he is not justified in his statements. I should have come into defend but assumed you were surviving! Will watch out in future but hand in there we need you --Snowded (talk) 14:20, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

- C'mon Jack, illegitimi non carborundum and get stuck in and don't be put off. I see you went to Deacon but i notice he already started his wikibreak which was a pity. Bill Reid | Talk 14:49, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
