Jack Mackay was born on May 7, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois USA. He has a B.A. in Journalism from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana 1968. He is a free-lance writer & has been published in (1) The Philadelphia Inquirer & its Sunday magazine, TODAY; (2) The Chicago Tribune & its Sunday magazine The Chicago Tribune Magazine; (3) most of the local newspapers in Du Page County, Illinois, as well as The Herald News in Joliet, Illinois. He has founded & edited numerous literary magazines, including The Thursday Gazette, published by The Indiana Daily Student at Indiana University 1967. He has written numerous plays, short stories, and poems, many of which have been produced or published. He has read many dictionaries, including The Random House Dictionary of the English Language, 2d ed. & Webster's Third International Dictionary. He is very interested in respelling English words phonetically & in the etymology of words in the English & American language. He is also interested in conceptual art & the paranormal.
