[edit] Speech Code of the Month
I don't think there should be a mention of the FIRE "award" in this article. If you actually read that article, and look at the actual code of conduct, you see that FIRE actually took some editing liberties, and changed a major bit of the code around. They removed "abuse" and put in "offend", making it seem like JSU was saying no one should speak. That means the "award" is based on a lie, and shouldn't have been given at all. This is especially true since the sample given in this article is different from the one they used, and saying the "award" was given for that sample and not the edited version isn't true.Siddonie 05:35, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- I have been bold and removed it. For one thing, it is given undue weight in such a short article, and two, there is some controversy about the award itself and the citation is not from a WP:RS. --JodyB yak, yak, yak 20:56, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Campus Events
What is up with the Campus Events section? Was that copied and pasted from a newspaper? It looks JUST like it was, and is EXTREMELY akward in this article. Someone either revert the edit that did that, or shorten it a LOT, please. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.155.147.241 (talk) 01:27, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
- I agreed and so I pruned it quite a bit. I could not show it to be a copyvio but it had the appearance that it was written by PR type. I removed about 75% of it and got the POV out. JodyB Roll, Tide, Roll 09:25, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
