[edit] Criticism of Steadman
I removed the following two sentences.
- The Chiefs were a laughingstock on the field during Steadman's tenure as President and later Chairman. Only after he was removed from those positions did the Chiefs begin to regain some small bit of the on-field credibility they enjoyed during their early glory years.
- In recent years, Steadman's reputation has been sullied by overt cash grabs on behalf of the Chiefs. He was instrumental in a local campaign that used lies, distortions and character smears to gain some $400 million for the Chiefs to "renovate" Arrowhead Stadium. More recently, he and team owner Lamar Hunt employed even dirtier shenanigans in a complex series of maneuvers intended to invalidate a clause in the $400 million deal that would have brought the Chiefs another $21 million with no strings attached.
The first can be put back by discussing the Chief records during his tenure. The second point needs attribution and further explanation. As written now it's defamatory. Americasroof 20:05, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
