Talk:Jack L. Gray

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is a new biography of the late Canadian painter. Although very much an amalgam of existing documents (found in museums, and commercial art galleries), it has been expanded with personal anecdotes that illustrate the wider human interests of the man, which is lacking elsewhere. There has been a tendency, over the years, to depend on art dealers for information, and their documents are often adaptations of Gray's official publicity from the 1970's.

By design, this biography omits all references to Gray's family life, such as it was. The differing opinions propounded by friends of Jack's first wife, versus those of his second wife's circle, (in both cases amounting to a revisionst approach to history) have been entirely omitted.
