The Jackson Rhythmist is a fictional and highly sought companion model to the Soloist by Jackson Guitars. It is differentiated from the Soloist by having only a neck pickup, going up to nine frets on the neck and is used exclusively for rhythm guitar work. Some rare versions have up to 12 frets, but these are impossible to verify, and the validity of this variant qualifying for Rhythmist status is a highly debated topic. Conversely, a 5 fret "John Flansburgh Signature Model" can be ordered from the Custom Shop, as "There is no money past the fifth fret".
