Jackson Lake State Park

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is about the Colorado park. For others, see Jackson Lake State Park (disambiguation).

Jackson Lake State Park is located northeast of Mancos, Colorado in eastern Montezuma County, Colorado. It is situated on 224-acre Jackson reservoir (originally called Lake Mancos) and was built in the early 1950s as the major feature of the Mancos Project. The reservoir is created by damming of Jackson Gulch, for which it is named, and receives water diverted upstream on the Mancos River, storing it for use during the irrigation season. The lake also provides domestic water for the Town of Mancos and Mesa Verde National Park, approximately 17 miles away.

The state park offers camping spaces, yurts for rent, trout fishing and wake less boating on the lake, and views of the La Plata Mountains.
