Jackie Torres is a Puerto Rican Actress/Director/Producer/Writer. After a successful TV career in Puerto Rico she moved to Los Angeles and landed a small supporting role in a popular Mexican film. Her exposure in this film brought the attention of several Hispanic filmmakers who wanted to cast her. The wide exposure of those films sent her full force into the popularity of independent films in California.

She is most famous for directing, co-writing, and starring in the film The Price of the American Dream (2001), which was the most successful film for California-based film company Laguna Productions. She has also gone on to direct East L.A. King (2004) and Crossing Frontiers (2004) all three which were produced through Laguna. She has also made guest appearances on such shows as ER and The District.
