Jack Halpern (chemist)

Jack Halpern (born 19 January 1925, Poland) is a chemist. He has been Louis Block Distinguished Service Professor of Chemistry, University of Chicago, since 1984.

Born in Poland, he moved to Canada in 1929 and the United States in 1962.

He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1974.

In 1986 he won the Willard Gibbs Award, one of the most prestigious awards in chemistry.
