[edit] Biography
J. Valentine is a R&B/Rap artist from the Fillmore area of San Francisco, CA. He calls his music "R&Bay" (Rhythm and Bay), which reflects his roots in Bay Area culture. He is set to release his debut album, Conversation Piece, with J Records in early 2008. This album will mark his first album as a solo artist, as he has appeared as a featured artist & songwriter in many songs from 2pac's "When I Get Free" to a Tyrese's "I like Them Girls". His most notable works are N'Sync's 9x platinum "Celebrity", Mario's "How Could You" and Omarion's "I'm Tryna." As a songwriter and a vocalist, Valentine has accumulated over 17 million records sold. The King of R&Bay indeed, J. Valentine's solo album debut faces an intense level of anticipation. Conversation Piece features production by Scott Storch, Cool & Dre, The Underdogs, Dre & Vidal, Polow Da Don, Needles and The CityBoyZ. It also boasts collaborations with E-40, Keak da Sneak, Bailey and Snoop Dogg.
Valentine's first solo song was "Go Dumb", originally recorded for the "Hide Ya Breezy" mixtape, a tribute to the Bay Area sound. "Go Dumb" also featured Bailey, Valentine's first signing to CityBoyZ Muzik and brother to Bay Area Rap Legend San Quinn. The record found its way into the hands of Big Von at 106.1 KMEL radio, and became a huge hit in San Francisco. It made its way up and down the west coast and Valentine found he was taking meetings with labels from all over the nation. He felt that J Records was the place for him. Valentine combines his role of CEO, loyal Bay Area advocate, and artist into a moving and attractive display of street credibility.
