J. Reginald Murphy, (1933-?), was the editor of the Atlanta Constitution and San Francisco Examiner.
On February 20, 1974, he was kidnapped by a man and his wife. Two days later, he was released after a payment of $700,000 had been made. The man and his wife were arrested.[citation needed]
