Papal Tiara

Purpose of use

The image illustrates an example of the subject of the article, the Papal Tiara, in a manner which cannot reasonably be accomplished by text alone. Further, the article describes several traditions associated with the Tiara; one such tradition is its use in the coronation of popes, though Pope John XXIII wore a different tiara at the start of his pontificate. This image, coupled with a second image, demonstrate that pontiff's use of multiple tiaras, in a manner which is not sufficiently possible with text alone.

Replaceable?

None, due to the age of the photograph
