Ivar is a brand of backpacks, or daypacks, based on the patented Ivar System Shelf Design technology - a main compartment angled shelving design that provides unique weight distribution and organization.

[edit] Created by a High School Student

Ivar was created by Ian Ivarson, in 1998, as a high school student at Marin Catholic High School in Kentfield, California. Following college at the University of Denver, Ivarson formed Ivarson USA LLC in April 2004 as a manufacturing and distribution vehicle for the Ivar branded backpacks and other packs based on the Ivar System technology. In July 2006, Ivarson launched The Ivar Backpack Co.
