It isn't true that italian football championship was the old name of the Serie A championship. From 1898 to 1921-22 FIGC the highest division was called Prima Categoria (First Category). From 1921-22 CCI to 1925-26 was called Prima Divisione (First Division). From 1926-27 to 1928-29 was called Divisione Nazionale (National Division).
