Savoia used to be Regno di Savoia and is now in Italy. A part was annexed to France in 1861 when the king Vittorio Emanuele II became king of Italy (Savoie and Nice). Piemonte and Sardegna became part of Italy, but only Piemonte is part of Italian Savoia.
