"It's Like That" originally debuted in 1983 along with "Sucker M.C.'s" as both back to back in a casette. Both eventually recieved praises from the media as the first rap song with more grittier and harder beats, overpowering legendary Hip-Hop pioneers like Grandmaster Flash, Kurtis Blow, and many others. Plus, making the start of Run-DMC's career.

The song is actually about how hard life is in the area the group live. How people die, prices get raised, etc., especially life on the outside as well. Later in 1997, DJ Jason Nevins remixed the song and soon became top of the music charts.
