It's Yourself is a 1976 B-Side by the English progressive rock group Genesis, recorded during the sessions for "A Trick of the Tail", their first album after the departure of original lead singer Peter Gabriel.
[edit] Original Version
There are at least three versions of this song on the market (excluding bootlegs). The original version was released as a B-Side twice in the 1970's, once as a B-Side for their single "Ripples" (from "A Trick of the Tail"), and again as a B-Side for "Your Own Special Way" (from the "Wind and Wuthering" album). It lasted about 5:46, and was excerpted to open the live favourite "Los Endos".
[edit] 2000 Edited Version
The second version was released on the 2000 Boxset "Genesis Archive 2: 1976-1992". It was remastered, and faded out 20 seconds earlier, apparently due to the band's preference. To date, this version is the closest any CD release has come to releasing the original version.

The third version is the most edited, and is also the longest. It still fades out 20 seconds earlier, but also added an extra verse from a late 1975 demo version "Beloved Summer". This version lasts 6:15, and was released on the 2007 Boxset "Genesis 1976-1982".
