I have dropped a note at WikiProject Arthropods asking for some scholarly advice on this rather unusual article. Ben MacDui (Talk) 20:00, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

And a Flea Circus ringmaster preferably. Roll up! Roll up! --MacRusgail 20:17, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

I can't remember where, but I'm sure I've seen comment on this before, and if I remember rightly, the commentator concluded that fifteen flea species is in no way unusual for an island the size of Bute, so even if the article were entirely true, it still wouldn't be significant. --Stemonitis 21:13, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

I can't see it doing that many wonders for the tourist trade not unless they invite these guys along. --MacRusgail 13:21, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Apologies to visiting etymologists from Wikiproject Scottish Islands. It is a bank holiday and MacRusgail seems unusually frolicsome:) Ben MacDui (Talk) 19:25, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

LOL! To be honest, without getting hold of an expert, I've no idea how to verify this. It will be hard enough finding a book on fleas, let alone one that mentions Bute. --MacRusgail 19:48, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
No-one has come up with any suggestion that this might be significant, so I've redirected it to Isle of Bute and marked the statement there as uncited. --Stemonitis 10:50, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
