Island province

Island province is a province with jurisdictional extent encompassing the whole land area of an island.
A province cannot be called an "island province" if a certain part of the island is governed or administered by a separate province. Some provinces include several smaller islands.
Some of the recognizable island provinces are:
- Prince Edward Island in Canada
- Easter Island (Islas de Pascua or Rapa Nui) in Chile
- Hainan in China
- Bali in Indonesia
- Cebu in the Philippines
- Jeju in South Korea
- Phuket in Thailand
