Arms of Isle of Ely County Council granted by the College of Arms 1st May 1931.

The three crowns on red are the arms of the Diocese of Ely. These were used by the county council before it obtained an official grant of arms. The 1931 placed the diocesan arms on a triangular "pile", surrounded by blue and silver waves thus depicting the "Isle". The crest shows an arm clasping a trident through which an eel is entwined. The name "Ely" is said to be derived from "eel isle". The arm is charged on the wrist with a Wake Knot, commemorating Hereward the Wake.

The arms became obsolete in 1965, when the county was merged with Cambridgeshire to form Cambridgeshire and the Isle of Ely.
