Talk:Ishaya

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Greetings everyone, this is my first attempt to write an article about the Ishayas' Ascension. I expect it to be greatly expanded, because this is just a meager attempt to write about the practice. I am under no circumstance related to this group. cJ --Cracker jack 00:10, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Changing the name of the article

Hello. I would like to suggest that the name of this article be changed from "Ishaya" to "The Ishayas' Ascension" to more accurately reflect the terminology used by the Ishayas. "Ishaya" means one of the monks of the Ishaya order, or the name of the order itself. "The Ishayas' Ascension" is the name of the techniques and is the best name to refer to the teaching as a whole. - GOV 04:43, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Changing the name of "Followers" section

Another suggestion: since, as you say, people who practice The Ishayas' Ascension aren't following any kind of belief-system, why call that section "Followers"? "Practicers" would make more sense. Better yet, call that section "Ascenders" and start it with: "People who practice The Ishayas' Ascension are known as Ascenders."--GOV 04:52, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

I agree with you, as long as the term ascender is more specified. To me it just means someone who
goes upwards, but upwards to what? Practicioner is a more NPOV anyways. --Cracker jack 19:26, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Article merge

I didn't realize this article existed (probably due to the title issue discussed above.) So I created a new page for the Ishayas' Ascension. I have added the merge tags to the top of each page.. I think both have good information and should be merged into the page with the correct title.

It seems reasonable to merge these two, but I would prefer if the term ishaya would redirect to "the ishaya's ascension" because it's a long name and some ppl would probably just search for ishaya. --Cracker jack 14:14, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Before these articles are merged

I see that user 66.35.158.193 has been editing the text of this version of the Ishayas' Ascension. The words allegedly and presumably are removed from the text in the version of 20th October. This leads me to think that someone wants the article to be a non-NPOV article. Maybe because of vested interests? Before any merger takes place the text should be re-edited and non-NPOV terms be removed. The text also lacks sources for many of its statements and is thus unreliable. I don't like the way this article is moving. It is getting biased. I've seen the same happen with other articles about religious and spiritual organizations. Actions must be taken to prevent this! I've added a 'Neutrality' template at the top of the page, which should remain till it's corrected --Cracker jack 16:04, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

Done some editing. If anyone objects then do so quickly because this article is about to be merged --Cracker jack 18:04, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
