Is his name spelled "Isaiah" or "Isiah"? I've seen it spelled both ways, even in the same article. — FREAK OF NURxTURE (TALK) 21:10, 17 November 2005 (UTC)
It is spelled "Isaiah". Isiah Thomas' name is spelled "Isiah". DaDoc540 06:14, 28 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Rider's effect on Lenny Wilkens

Lenny Wilkens resigned after the 1999-2000 season. Of course, some may speculate that he was really fired when the Hawks organization decided to announce it a resignation. However, Lenny Wilkens coached the Hawks from the 1993-1994 season to the 1999 lockout-shortened season with not merely relative success, but great success. His years with Steve Smith, Dikembe Mutombo, and Mookie Blaylock were some of the best enjoyed by the Hawks since the Dominique Wilkins era. It would be hard to believe that Lenny Wilkens would be fired for one dismal season that was not totally his fault after all he had done in the past. DaDoc540 06:27, 28 January 2006 (UTC)
He was known as J.R. before the NBA draft when he went to college at Allen County Community College. He didn't call himself by his given name until the NBA Draft.

Why doesn't this article mention the controversy over Rider's alleged cheating on an English test, and the other scandals surrounding him at UNLV? Or the fact that UNLV's probation kept him from ever playing in the tournament?
Also, he was known as "J.R." long before his rookie year in the NBA. I'm fixing this part: "As a rookie, Rider (who began calling himself "J.R." that season)..."--WadeMcR 15:40, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Winning a Ring with the Lakers
The article mentions that he finally won a ring while playing with the Lakers. However, I was under the impression that he was left off the playoff roster, and thus was ineligible for a ring. So, he was technically not a winner, even though he was on the regular season roster. Can anyone confirm this? Gabefarkas
I remember specifically hearing that received a championship ring, even though he was left off the playoff roster. He was quoted to something of the affect that it didn't mean anything to him, since he was off the roster. 75.85.185.179 00:20, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
