Iron cross trainer

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Iron Cross Trainer [1] is a new device, found in most gymnasiums, that reduces the weight the gymnast holds while training the Iron Cross, Maltese, and Planches forms. It consists of two hand grips, nylon ropes, and a clip. The nylon rope and clip can be hung from the rings, high bar, stall bars, or any secure overhead device.

Gymnasts and other athletes can greatly benefit from arm, chest, and shoulder exercises as they can do a full range of motion through all positions of the iron cross or planche with less effort allowing the gymnast to feel the optimum position they need to be able to hold.

The Iron Cross Trainer also allows for multiple reps to be performed safely which can greatly reduce injury and reduce time with which a gymnast can learn an iron cross on rings quickly. The iron cross trainer can be easily adjusted so that the athlete can increase or decrease resistance as they gain strength or choose to have a light-weight training session. The iron cross trainer is perfect for any level of gymnast.

It is not just for male gymnasts, as female gymnasts can benefit greatly from planche training as well.
