I fixed two minor spelling mistakes: there (place) - poss. their. And everywere to everywhere. The article could use more commas and apostrophes, and less run-on sentences. But that's just my stylistic opinion. Also might consider some Farsi, i.e. تيمِ ملّى. It'd be nice to know what melli means too. I also added the official IRIFF link, though it is currently under construction. Khirad 04:34, 9 September 2005 (UTC)

Why is the play-off match against Australia to qualify for the 1998 World Cup considered controversial? Away-goals rule has long been a part of football. I think it would be better to say Iran narrowly qualified instead of using the word controversial.

Team Melli... Team Melli... how did the name Team Melli come about as the Iran football team's nickname?

Melli is persian for National. Hence: Team Melli ----> National Team
