- The 1066 Norman conquest of England under William the Conqueror.
- The 1216 invasion of England by Louis VIII of France, during the First Barons' War.
- The 1688/1689 conquest of England by the Dutch Republic, also known as the Glorious Revolution.
- The 1803 - 1805 planned but never executed Napoleonic invasion of England.
- The 1940 partially planned but never executed German Invasion of England, better known as Operation Seelöwe.
