What in the world is "abnormal stereotypic behaviour". That's an oxymoron if I ever heard one. Hoof Hearted 16:28, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
- Stereotypical behavior might give some info. Regarding the contradiction, perhaps Sheba was born in captivity but not in the tropics. --Vsion 01:36, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
- I realize the article phrases it just like the reference, but I think it would make more grammatical sense to place a comma between the two adjectives. "Dark, green house" has a different meaning than "dark green house". I'm not an animal behaviourist, but I think it would be best to state the behaviour was either abnormal, or stereotypic. But perhaps that is the correct term in that field - your link was helpful, but did not give evidence for the use of the phrase "abnormal stereotypic". Also, I think I resolved the contradiction. You were right; Inuka was the first born in the tropics. But until wild polar bears are born south of latitude 23.5°, the captivity note is unnecessary. Hoof Hearted 15:33, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
