[edit] InChI generator at Cambridge

The external links to Cambridge U. appear to be dead, is this temporary? V8rik 21:29, 15 September 2005 (UTC)

We have upgraded our server. It is working now Petermr 11:34, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Long InChIs

Many InChIs are too long to fit on a page. Some browsers (e.g. Firefox) will distort the layout if they are inline whereas others will wrap/break in the middle.

InChIs cannot be broken, so I suspect the best strategy in WP is to use a new paragraph to display the InChI and to position it where it isn't immediately after a float (image). Petermr 11:34, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Limitations

The recent section on Limitations dominated the entry and appeared to have a somewhat hostile tone. All software has limitations and no-one would argue that InChI was bug- free. There is considerable documentation.

There is also an active mailing list and I would expect to see these criticism surface on the list and be discussed so that they could be referenced - the contributor gives no references.

I accept that there should be "limitations" in WP entries but usually they should be a small part of the whole for what is a widespread and valuable open process. Petermr 23:56, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
