Bahrain has been connected to the internet since 1995, and made it readily available to its citizens.[1] The country's domain suffix is '.bh'.[2] A liberal filtering system is used in Bahrain, one which can be easily bypassed.[3]
As of 2003, there were about 195,700 internet users in Bahrain,[4] or 28% of the population.[5]
