Internet Brands

Internet Brands (NASDAQINET) is a company based in El Segundo, California that operates online media, community, and e-commerce sites. The company was founded in 1998 as CarsDirect.com and, reflecting its growth and diversification, changed its name in 2005. Internet Brands was launched from the incubator Idealab. Recent acquisitions, in reverse chronological order, include the following:

  • On October 29, 2007, Internet Brands acquired DVD Talk, a website that provides news, discussion, and reviews of DVD releases. [1]
  • On July 11, 2007 Internet Brands announced its acquisition of ApartmentRatings.com, based in Austin, Texas. [3]
  • On July 4, 2007 Jelsoft Enterprises Limited announced that it was acquired by Internet Brands. Jelsoft will continue to operate business as usual, using Internet Brands resources to further development of commercial web software and the vBulletin product suite.[4]
