Here is the list of the players (past and present) of South African origin or birth who played for national cricket teams (Test, ODI or T20I) of countries other than South Africa. Several of the most prominent of them played for other countries in order to be able to compete in international cricket while South Africa was banned from international sport during the Apartheid era. Others have taken advantage of international cricket's rules about national qualification based on ancestry to play for other countries for a variety of reasons, have moved away from South Africa with their parents in childhood, or have emigrated from South Africa voluntarily as adults.
