The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades is an AFL-CIO affiliated union representing about 140,000 construction workers. It was one of three unions (SEIU and AFSCME were the others) to endorse Howard Dean during the 2004 Democratic primaries.

The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, or IUPAT, covers both the United States and Canada and consists of trades such as glazing, painting, wall covering, floor covering and drywall finishing. The structure is broken into various district councils, which are composed of local unions. In a suprise move in 2008, the IUPAT endorsed Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee.
