International Secondary School Eindhoven

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The International Secondary School Eindhoven is an English Medium international School in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, open to students across the age-range 11 to 19. In the whole school, there are about 300 students from different parts of the world which socialize together to make the school an even better place than it is now. It was established in 1974 and is based on the International Baccalaureate curriculum, offering both the Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme. The school has a growing sports program and some school clubs. The school holds an annual 'Ski Trip' to Austria or Switzerland. The school also has class trips for each individual grade. These trips are like adventure camps to a certain degree and teach the students about working together and help them socialize. It is not mandatory to go on these trips but many students do. Also the school has students from over 45 countries attending. Because of all the cultural diversity many of the students learn a lot of things about different cultures and this impacts how they view the world and world events. Lately, the ISSE has also made its very own logo and name: ISSE Wolves, which will be used as a name of recognition for when the school goes to sports tournaments (like NECIS).

There is also a bilingual English/Dutch primary school in Eindhoven, catering for the age-range 4 to 12. This school is called the 'RIS'., This stands for Regional International School.
