International Media Support (www.i-m-s.dk) is an international NGO based in Denmark. The IMS mission is to enhance peace, stability, dialogue, democracy, freedom of expression and pluralism of the press in areas affected by conflict, human insecurity and political transition as well as to enhance mutual understanding between areas of collaborative interventions, twinning and assistance to media practitioners and institutions.
IMS undertakes its work in a cooperative and collaborative manner, seeking to encourage maximum coordination with existing local and international initiatives. IMS seeks to act flexibly and, when necessary, rapidly. In undertaking interventions, IMS seeks to fulfill a catalyst function and to prepare the ground for longer-term media development.
IMS is a result- and action-oriented organisation. At the operational level, IMS seeks to play a constructive role when conflicts escalate and it is not possible to initiate long-term activities.
