Public domain This work uses the melody of the Internationale composed in 1888 (published before July 1, 1909 outside the United States) by Pierre Degeyter (1848-1932). The melody is in the public domain in the United States and those countries with a copyright term of life of the author plus 75 years or less.

However, the melody by Pierre Degeyter is or may be copyrighted in:

  • France until October 2017 (life + 70 years + 6 years and 152 days for World War I + 8 years and 120 days for World War II, pursuant to Arts. L123-1, L123-8, and L123-9 of the Code de la propriété intellectuelle)
