Instrument manifolds

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Instrument Manifolds, gauge valves and needle valves are relatively new devices (last ±40 years), used principally as isolation for process measurement instruments.

Gauges, pressure and differential pressure instruments are used to measure pressure which have either a local indication, as in a pressure gauge, or to transmit a voltage representative of the calibrated range of the pressure device, to a control device or process computer (DCS). <

Normal operating pressure is 6000 PSI @ 100°C for valves made from austenitic stainless steel (AISI 316 ss). Seals used by most manufacturers are either PTFE or Graphite for high temperature applications whilst some producers use synthetic rubbers like viton.
