I have changed "Raised to the cardinalate" to "Created cardinal". The primary reason for the change is that becoming a cardinal is not necessarily an elevation. Patriarchs of the Eastern Catholic Churchers are honored, but not "raised", when they are created cardinals. A secondary reason for the change is that the term "created" is the traditional term used for granting title. Majoreditor 17:03, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

This template needs a doc page to make it easier to implement. I was working on creating this, but I ran into soem real difficulties putting together a viable example. My example was going to be Card. Angelo Sodano, but he's held two major positions as a cardinal. It was very cumbersome and difficult to have to list out both his position as Card. Sec. of State and Dean of the College of Cardinals along with predecessors and successors, mostly because the "Title" and "Period" parameters are separate and mandatory. The template should not assume that a cardinal is going to have held only one position. Also, I do not understand the reason for the "Reason for exit" parameter. How relevant is that?
