[edit] modified version

I've started work on importing some of the features from the Former Country infobox. My current version is here and a sample of its use is here. The more I look at it, I think the political subdivision part doesn't look right: maybe we need to either remove it or just change it to the number of divisions. I'm not sure. - 52 Pickup 11:19, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] More than one successor?

I would like to use this template. But how does it handle a situation where the territory is split between two countries? For instance I am interested in using it on Louisiana (New France) which was split to Britain and Spain in 1763. Thanks Americasroof 03:57, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Five successors.

I've tried to update the infobox for Province of Schleswig-Holstein which had five successors; one German and four Danish entities. I don't know why, but the right-hand links aren't working. Valentinian T / C 19:28, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] ifexist limit

This template is going to be broken by the pending limit on calls to #ifexist. Please rewrite it to make far fewer calls to #ifexist. Dragons flight 23:03, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Now cut from 111 to 75 calls, which places the template itself under the 100 limit. It needs an overhaul just as Template:Infobox Former Country. -- Domino theory 10:58, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
